IMAM MUHAMMED AL-BAQIR AND THE BLIND MAN

Abu Baseer, meaning the one who sees was a blind man, He went in the presence of Imam Muhammed Al Baqir and inquired as he was a part of the Prophet Muhammed’s Peace be upon him and his progeny’s household and inheritor of the miracles of all prophets, can he cure a blind man.

The imam replied that with the permission of God, he’s able to cure him. The imam asked Abu Baseer to come near him and moved his hand over his eyes. Abu Baseer was cured. The imam then told him, “Do you want to live like a normal seeing person and rise on the day of Resurrection with hope and despair or go to Paradise as a blind man?” Abu Baseer replied that he wanted to revert to his previous condition . The imam then moved his hand over his eyes, and he became blind once again.
