Hussain's Message to Humanity
Imam Hussain (PBUH) did what no other would do; he gave up his home, family, safety, own life, and entire family for a message. What is this significant message that deserves the sacrifice of the head of one of The Prophet's dear grandsons and the hands of another?
It is the message of humanity, peace, justice; the message of Islam and of God. It is the message that inspired all of humanity with divinity.
There are several justifications of Hussain's sacrifice, each with a different approach. Political; where it is claimed that Hussain's uprising had political motives, as that time the area was politically corrupt, from ruler to government. Social; others claim Hussain (PBUH) wanted to repair the corrupt society. Religious; another would be that he was trying to save Islam and was attending his lifely duty towards his religion.
However, there is actually one motive which embodies the previous into one, which is of humanity. Hussain's revolution embodied values and principles that relate to the entire world and weren't specifically related to politics, society, or religion in and of themselves. He aimed to achieve justice and end corruption and tyranny. Hussain revolted in Ashura for such values, and his calling for such a revolution cannot be restricted to a certain geographical or intellectual space, as it is a revolution of and for the entire human race.
Hussain’s spread the message of his grandfather and put the spotlight on the enemies of that message whom spent years preying on Islam until it stabilized with Yazid, which led to Hussain, upon orders from God, to start the throw that will end the wrongdoings of the enemies of Islam. This shook not just humans but the entire universe. Another throw will not be needed as the waves of righteousness from God sent in Hussain’s revolution are still alive and ongoing, frightening the enemies of the prophet of God and his holy household; especially the enemies of Prince of Believers, Imam Ali Bin Abu Talib.
‘Ashura is not just a tragic event and Karbala is not just a geographical location, they are both an eternal message from the heavens. It is evident that the battle of Karbala is like no other battle in history.
