Imam Ali's Miracle for Martin Kobler

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Martin Kobler, visited the holy city of Najaf and asked about the shrine. He was told that it was the shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH), the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&P). He is his legatee (executor of will), and the one who sacrificed himself. During his visit to Imam Ali’s shrine, Kobler noticed visitors distributing sweets. When he asked about them, he was told that Imam Ali fulfills people’s needs, especially the complex ones and it has grown customary to thank Imam Ali by distributing sweets to his visitors in his name, as thanks. This act is called “Nathr'' which is charity given in the love of God, when an answer to a prayer is fulfilled. After returning to Sweden and taking on another work trip elsewhere, he was delivered the news of his wife getting in an accident. She was in severe condition; unconscious for more than a month with a cracked skull and had to undergo an operation with a high probability of death due to her poor condition. Kobler felt frustrated with all doors shut and his world blackened. He then suddenly remembered Najaf and Imam Ali (PBUH). He then prayed to the Imam, saying, “Imam Ali, I do not know you and you do not know me, but the Iraqis have always said that you aid those with difficult needs through the will of God. I beg you and send your soul blessed prayers. Help me, please.” He then sobbed his heart out. The next day, he received a call from the hospital telling him that something strange happened, his wife awakened from the coma! Her condition gradually improved. After reuniting with his wife, he asked her how she awoke. She replied, “A luminous man came to me and caressed the top of my head with his light. I then woke up to find myself in the hospital.” Kobler later visited Imam Ali in Iraq and handed out sweets to the fellow visitors, thanking Imam Ali. The administration of Imam Ali’s shrine documented the Koblers’s story in the official record of the Imam’s miracles in foreign countries.
