The Black Stone Speaks the Truth, Imam Zain Al-Abdieen's Miracle 

Abi Khaled Al-Kabli narrates, “I was invited by Muhammed son of Hanafeya, after the murder of Hussain and the return of his son Ali -zain Al-Abdieen- to Medina. He told me to  go to Ali son of Hussain and inform him, “That I ( Muhammed son of Hanafeya) am Imam Ali’s eldest son after Hasan and Hussain, and I’m more entitled to this* position than you are. You must hand it to me, if you desire you can choose a judge to judge between us”. I went to him and delivered the message . Zain AL-abdieen told me, “go back to him and say: O’uncle fear God and don’t claim what God hasn’t made yours. If you wish, then what is between you and me is the Black Stone*. Whomever the stone reply’s  to is the imam.”

I returned to him with that answer. He told me to tell him: “I’ve answered you”. All of them including myself entered until the Black Stone was upon us. Imam  Zain Al- Abdieen said: “ come forward uncle for you’re older and ask it (the stone) to certify  your Imamate”.  Muhammed came forward and prayed two rka’as*, recited some holy  sermons and then asked the Black Stone to certify his Imamate, but the stone didn’t answer. Then imam Zain Al-Abdieen prayed two rka’as* and said:” O’ stone that God has made a witness to all whom have had visited his holy house, if you recognize and acknowledge that I am the owner of this position and that I’m the imam whose all God’s creations are obliged to follow,  testify my imamte, so that my uncle knows that he has no rights in the imamte.”

The stone replied in  clear and fluent Arabic: “ O’ Muhammed son of Ali, hand over the position to Ali son of Hussain, for he is the imam that  you and all of God’s creations should follow during his time*. Muhammad son of Hanafeya kissed the imam and said: “The position is yours”. It is said that the reason behind  Muhammed son of Hanafeya’s action was to subside people’s doubts about imam Zain Al-Abdieen.

*rka’a: the second step in prayer that is preformed five times a day the person is bent over in an upside“L” position with  one hand over each knee  
*time:  during the time that he is alive; until he passes away and the imamte is handed to his son  Al-Kra’aj Wa Al-Jarah by Al-Sheik Abu Al-Hussain Al-sa’aeed son of Huba Allah (Qudb Al-Deen Al Rawdani).
